The best cure for every hair type: 5 DIY recipes |
For good hair treatments, you can leave a lot of money in the drugstore – or just do it yourself. Suitable mask recipes for every hair type
Dry, stressed or greasy: for every hair problem there are dozens of products on the shelves of the drugstores that promise a lot, but unfortunately also cost a lot, generate a lot of garbage and are sometimes packed with chemicals.
Fortunately, nature offers great, cheap hair aids – guaranteed free of harmful substances! And some of them are already in your kitchen anyway. Then why shouldn’t you just mix your hair treatment yourself? Here we reveal what ingredients you need for homemade hair masks, how to mix care packs and how to use them correctly. You can also read here why and how often you should use hair masks at all.
What does a hair treatment actually bring?
What facial masks for the complexion are cures for the hair: intensive care, specially tailored to certain scalp or hair problems. There are hair treatments against split ends, hair masks for dry hair, treatments specifically for volume, and clarifying detox masks for oily hair. What they all have in common: For optimal results, hair treatments should be applied to the hair at regular intervals and usually for 15-30 minutes.
1-2 applications per week are ideal. You can theoretically apply care cures for dry and damaged hair, if you have the time, but also for every wash. Especially if you have done the cure yourself, you can not care for your hair. The reason: there are no plasticizers like silicones. The care can not accumulate either.
It is better not to use anti-fat cures more than once or twice a week. If used too often, the hair and scalp could dry out, which would react with even stronger sebum production.
The best hair treatment recipes from home remedies for every hair type
Do you really feel like mixing your hair treatment yourself? Then you need the right recipe. We have 5 of them here, there is definitely the right one for you:
1. Homemade avocado cure for dry hair

You need 1 ripe avocado, 1 cup of yogurt. 1 dash of lemon juice
That’s how it’s done:
Peel the pulp of the avocado and mash it with a fork
Mix the mixture with a mug of yogurt and the lemon juice
Massage into damp hair after shampooing
Then put a shower cap on. (Didn’t you? Alternatively, wrap the hair in cling film)
Leave the intensive care for 15 to 20 minutes
Wash the hair thoroughly with shampoo afterward
Then dry and style as usual

2. Natural hair treatment for better hair growth
“Just like plants, our hair only grows on good soil,” says Julia Lückemann, owner of the Salon Nova Hair studio in Hamburg. Her absolute insider tip for optimal growth conditions: a hair treatment with rosemary, coconut, and castor oil.
Coconut fat, castor oil, and rosemary promote blood circulation.
You need: 4 tbsp coconut oil (order ), 4 tbsp castor oil (order ), 1 bunch of rosemary sprigs order here at amazon.de (from € 17.99 ) order here at amazon.de (search at amazon.de )
That’s how it’s done:
Heat coconut oil and castor oil in a saucepan (do not cook)
Add sprigs of rosemary
Remove the mixture from the heat and let cool
Spread the mix over your scalp with your fingers or a brush
Massage the scalp extensively to stimulate blood circulation
Oils and rosemary support the blood circulation-promoting effect
Leave the cure on for as long as you like but at least 30 minutes
Then shampoo and care as usual
This way hair grows faster
3. Healing earth hair treatment against oily hair
Grease your hair unusually quickly, either use overly rich care products or actually have an oily scalp. In the first case, it helps to change the shampoo and conditioner. In the second case, a hair treatment with healing earth provides long-lasting freshness.
Healing earth absorbs excess hair fat.
You need 10 tablespoons of healing earth (order here at amazon.de (search at amazon.de ) ) and 200 ml of water.
That’s how it’s done:
Mix the earth and water into a paste
Then spread the mix on the scalp and in the hairline
Leave out the tips so as not to dry them out unnecessarily
Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes
Rinse with lukewarm water
Tip: If you dilute the healing earth more strongly (about 2 tablespoons to 500 ml of water), you get a great conditioner that you can use daily or with every wash.
4. Honey-egg hair treatment for broken hair
The majority of your hair consists of the protein keratin. If you strain your hair too much – for example with paint, bleaching, or straightening iron – the keratin fibers will be weakened. The consequences are broken hair and split ends. Hair treatments with proteins help to compensate for the damage of a few washes.
A cure with egg strengthens your hair.
You need: 2 tablespoons honey, 2 egg yolks
That’s how it’s done:
Liquefy the honey in a warm water bath
Then whisk with the egg yolk
Put the porridge in the damaged hair
Leave on for 15 minutes
Then rinse with cold water if possible, otherwise, there will be scrambled eggs in the hair
A cold pour or a vinegar rinse as a finish ensure that the cuticle layer contracts and the hair shines healthy

5. Homemade beer hair treatment for volume and shine
A homemade egg and beer cure strengthens the hair and makes it shine beautifully without weighing it down. You don’t need to be afraid of a flag: the smell of beer disappears completely when it dries.
You need: 2 egg yolks, 1/2 cup of beer, 1 dash of lemon juice
That’s how it’s done:
Separate egg yolk and egg white
Mix the yolk with beer and lemon juice
Spread the mix in damp hair
Leave on for 20-30 minutes
First rinse with cool water so that the egg does not clot
Then wash and care for your hair as usual
